Are you looking to become a professional mixing engineer?
Here is what a professional mix & master studio looks like.

Here are 3 tips that I wish I knew before I started.

1. Find a Mentor

Mixing music can be really tough, especially if you want to do it professionally. That's why having a mentor is so important. Look for someone who knows their stuff and can guide you. YouTube is a great place to find mentors—many experienced engineers share their knowledge there, from beginner tips to advanced techniques.

2. Don't Be Afraid to Experiment

You're going to make mistakes, and that's okay! Messing up is part of learning. To get better faster, try different things with EQ, compression, and leveling. These three tools can make a huge difference in how your mix sounds. The more you experiment, the quicker you'll improve.

3. Be Observant

Pay attention to your work and think critically about it. Ask yourself questions like, "How can I make this better?" or "What went wrong here?" Taking the time to analyze and fix your mistakes will make you a better mixer. This skill is all about solving problems, so the more you practice, the better you'll get.

Follow these tips to make your journey into music mixing smoother and more enjoyable. Happy mixing!
